New Delhi, September 05, 2018: In a career spanning over a decade, Devidyuti Ghosh has earned herself a name in the field of Operations Management. Armed with a degree in hospitality management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, Devidyuti was a star performer even in her college days where she ranked among the top three students of her class and was awarded the Principal’s Noble Award and Certificate for academic excellence.
Continuing her winning streak, she won a certificate of excellence for overall conduct and performance during her summer internship at The Park Hotel, Kolkata. Thereafter, in 2008, she started training under the Taj Management Program in core hotel operations in Delhi, Mumbai, Aurangabad and Kolkata. In 2010 she was appointed as the Duty Manager at Mumbai’s Taj Lands’ End where she worked for a year before moving to Kolkata to work as the Duty Manager at The Taj Bengal.
During her tenure at The Taj Bengal, Kolkata, Devidyuti spearheaded new practices and processes and is credited for laying down standard procedures for departments for various touch points with the guests. Along with managing the daily front office operations, she oversaw inventory systems, drew budgets for yearly capital expenses and operational expenses. She also administered the hotel’s property management systems and successfully maintained the hotel’s balance score card and monthly review assessments, exceeding most of her assigned goals.
Specializing in people management from the University of Delhi, her people skills have helped her liaison with security personnel to oversee the entire safekeeping of the hotel and manage and encourage an entire workforce working under and with her. Her sheer determination towards her work won her the MD’s Club award for excellent performance for the year 2012-13. Soon after, she scaled up to become the Assistant Front Office Manager at the Taj Bengal and bagged the Tata Award for Business Excellence for Best Front Office Department, 2013-14 in the Luxury Division – Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces. At the Taj Bengal, she was also part of Sexual Harassment Redressal Committee and contributed articles for the hotel’s newsletter on her staff’s achievements and trends alike.
Moving on in 2014, she successfully led Pullman & Novotel, Aerocity, New Delhi from its pre-operational to the operational phase as the Assistant Front Office Manager. In 2015, she headed Front Office Operations at JW Marriott, Juhufor a short while before moving back to Kolkata to be a part of the opening team of JW Marriott, Kolkata in the capacity of the Front Office Manager. A successful stint with an all ladies front office team here earned the hotel several accolades such as Award for Highest Elite Appreciation for the 01st Quarter, 2017 and Award for Second Highest Elite Appreciation Score for 2017 for Asia Pacific Excluding Greater China.
She has been recently appointed as the Director of Rooms for the hotel and is leading operations for rooms, spa operations and health club.
