Always leading from the front, he started his career with The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel (Mumbai) while pursuing his Diploma in Hotel Management. Rahul holds a Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Nutrition from the National Council of Hotel Management (New Delhi).
In his pursuit of excellence, Rahul joined the Marriott Executive Apartments and Renaissance (Mumbai), in March 2001.After having worked there for over three years, he handled fine food & beverage operations at the most premier Taj properties- Taj Palace Hotel (Dubai),Taj Mahal Hotel (New Delhi)and later at Taj Lake Palace (Udaipur). Astute and perceptive, Rahul achieved highest scores in various performance parameters in Luxury segment. His exemplary workmanship reflected in the consistent performance of his team.
In his role as Director of Operations at Courtyard by Marriott (Ahmedabad), Rahul aligned business plans and budgets for all departments while actively participating in special projects. Under his close watch, successful execution of prestigious events took place. Rahul has very successfully spearheaded great teams and achieved significant milestones in his career. Using proven methods and cutting-edge technology to successfully cut costs, streamline operations and increased productivity made Rahul an effective forerunner in operations. With strong background in operations, Rahul’s credential’s also includes launch of two brand new properties. Rahul’s leadership qualities led him to become theopening General Manager of Renaissance Lucknow Hotel in 2015. A consummate hotelier, Rahul assumed his next role as the General Manager of Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spain March 2016. Armed with his comprehensive perspective on the intricacies of helming luxury hotels, Rahul brought his own inimitable style and extensive market knowledge to successfully open Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa and positioned it as the most preferred luxury desert resort in India.
In his current role, as a General Manager of The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat, Rahul is all set to focus on improving personalization and guest recognition, besides improving the competitive edge and re-strengthening the brand presence. Additionally, Rahul will be seen formulating, administering, directing and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long-range goals to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
