
Lucknow, September 29, 2017 : Marriott International is back with its famed ‘Run to Give’ charity marathon in Lucknow on 24th September. The marathon started from Renaissance Lucknow Hotel, continuing till Janeshwar Mishra Park and culminating back at the beginning point, covering a distance of 8 kilometers.
The marathon was open for anyone and all the participants received a certificate of completion from Marriott.

We had a heavy turnout of participants as the event is already quite popular among the masses” says Mr. Pankaj Gupta, General Manager, Renaissance Lucknow Hotel.

Started in 2014 by the legacy Star wood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific as Hotel Charity Run, the inaugural event witnessed a great response of over 20,000 runners taking part in 92 locations across Asia Pacific.A total of USD 228,000 was raised by the event. The marathon was officially named as ‘Run to Give’ in 2015. 2016 marked the first associate event of ‘Run to Give’, where legacy Star wood and Marriott International came together to celebrate a meaningful cause after their merger in September of the same year. A contribution of nearly USD 270,000 was raised by the event.
Marriott International’s partnership with Rising Star Outreach, India reflects its broad commitment to enabling opportunities for the underprivileged sections of the society. The money raised at ‘Run to Give’ bought a positive difference to the society.
