New Delhi, February 27, 2024: Callebaut, renowned for producing the Finest Belgian Chocolate, held its much-anticipated flagship event, Callebaut Pâtissier of the Year 2024’s South qualifying round at the Whitecaps International School of Pastry in Bangalore on 23rd Feb. Chef Sandeep Sharma, Commis Chef – JW Marriott Kolkata and Chef Krishanu Dey, Chef De Partie, Ritz Carlton Bangalore won the round and will be heading to Mumbai to compete in the finale event which will be scheduled in May 2024.
Celebrating a century of crafting The Finest Belgian Chocolate, Callebaut acknowledges the value of originality. In the world of chocolate and pastry, being original is paramount. Hence, this year’s theme is ‘Craft Your Signature,’ emphasizing the uniqueness of every chef.
Talking about the competition, Chef Pratik Deshmukh, Head of Chocolate Academy Mumbai, said, “The Callebaut Pâtissier of the Year event is a highly esteemed platform for chefs and chocolatiers to showcase their chocolate skills and artistry on a national level. This year’s theme was ‘Craft Your Signature’ to inspire participants to demonstrate their unique creativity and originality. The participants’ creations in the Bangalore qualifier round were unique and displayed distinctive designs and textures using Callebaut’s Finest Belgian Chocolates. With this, we’ve concluded our qualifier rounds, and I am now looking forward to the contestants crafting their signatures in the finale.”
The qualifier winners of Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore will compete in the finale, which will be held in Mumbai towards the end of May 2024, where the final three winners will be selected.
