Bengaluru, February 16, 2018: La Dolce Vita or ‘the sweet life’ from central Italy is coming to the city to delight gourmands. Shangri-La Hotel will be hosting an indelible culinary experience with a Tuscan Pop-Up showcasing the refreshing yet hearty cuisine from the rolling hills of Chianti. Guests will savour the taste of Tuscan dining icon and the Michelin Guides rising star, La Locanda Di Pietracupa over a three day and night tryst at Caprese.
Stalwarts of the cuisine and visiting Chefs Monica and Franca will demonstrate their highly prized culinary skills over Fratelli wine-paired lunch and dinners, curated with assistance from the hotel’s executive chef Anurudh Khanna. In a first-of-its-kind, the chefs will be using local ingredients and produce interpreted from the Tuscan and global culinary point of view. The special menu will feature culinary highlights of the region which include Ricotta cheese Flan garnished with confit cherry tomatoes, Artichokes and leek Lasagnetta, Fusilli olive pesto and scamorza cheese and Olives breaded Codfish filet, creamed potatoes.
Much like their language, Italian cuisine is united by national ingredients such as breads, pasta, cheese and olive oil while regional cuisines have their own specialties. Simplicity is central to the Tuscan cuisine and nestled in the picturesque heart of Chianti Classico in an elegant bourgeois house, La Locanda di Pietracupa delights food aficionados with a culinary medley where customary meets contemporary.
