New Delhi, September 24, 2019: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mumbai, under the guidance of Director, Ms. Cholada Siddhivarn recently conducted an array of events and activities to directly engage with potential agents and media to entice travelers to explore the ASEAN routes and regions. Alongside introducing multiple routes, the objective for these activities was also to strengthen India’s cultural and historical ties with ASEAN countries.
The activities kick started with a joint promotional association with leading travel agent- FCM, wherein the agency actively promoted the Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos routes. FCM used multiple platforms such as print, radio, and online portals to highlight the multiple countries itineraries to ensure more Indian arrivals in the aforementioned countries. In the month of August, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai, in cooperation with the tourism boards of the ASEAN countries and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organized ‘ASEAN-Indian Film Festival’ in Mumbai to commemorate 2019 as the ASEAN-India Year of Tourism Cooperation. The Film festival welcomed film lovers and travel enthusiasts to experience from an interesting selection of movies showcasing the cultural variety and vibrancy of these closely-connected countries. Further, TAT with the corporation with Bangkok Airways also organized an ASEAN Connectivity FAM trip to Thailand (Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi) and Cambodia (Siam Reap) for select agents and media in India to provide them an exclusive experience and further communicate it to potential tourists.
Ms. Cholada Siddhivarn is appointed the APCT (ASEAN Promotional Chapter for Tourism) India head for the year 2019-2020 and will lead more such activities to strengthen the reach of ASEAN in India.
