Crafted from organic millets sourced at Chennai’s Organic Farmers Market, the tree symbolizes sustainability and community well-being, reflecting The Westin brand’s commitment to the “Eat Well” ethos.
In collaboration with Himalayan Gericare, led by Mr. Mithilesh Baraily and Dr. Thotup G Bhutia, alongside students from IIT Madras & NIFT Chennai, the initiative supports elderly care in Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. Proceeds from this unique project contribute to the creation of nutritious superfoods and essential infrastructure at care centers, embodying the spirit of giving back.
Post the festive season, the millets used in the tree will be recycled and donated, further enhancing local sustainability initiatives. Adorned with a variety of millets, the tree stands as a testament to The Westin Chennai Velachery’s dedication to promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
