New Delhi, March 24, 2018: The Maharashtra State Institute of Hotel Management & catering Technology and research Society, Pune had organized the annual day long State-Level Seminar under the Quality Improvement Programme of the Savitribai Phule Pune University on 2nd February 2018. The theme for this year’s seminar was Hotels of Tomorrow- “Building” it Right.

The Principal, Dr. Anita Moodliar welcomed all the dignitaries and speakers. The session started in a traditional manner with the lighting of the lamp with Saraswati Vandana in the background. Dr. Moodliar introduced the speakers and mentioned how the Hospitality Industry is observing a change and the relevance of the theme.

The seminar had distinguished speakers and Industry Experts, Mr. Neerav Panchamiya– President Poona Hoteliers Association and CEO E-Square Leisure who was the Chief Guest of the Event applauded the choice of speakers and spoke about the Current status of the Hospitality Industry.

Dr. Nandanwar Principal of Government Polytechnic, Pune and the Joint Director Technical Education Regional Office Pune, who was the Guest of Honor, appreciated the theme and organizing the seminar which was very relevant to the budding hospitality Professionals.

Mr. Jimmy Shaw– the Pioneer of Hospitality Software in India and well-known figure in the Hospitality Industry spoke about his Journey in the Hospitality world and how and what made him move from operations to Hotels Software’s. He highlighted about the various techniques used in technology and their applications in hotels. He also emphasized on the various trends and advancements which will be ruling the hospitality world in the future and how IOT, 5G and Artificial Intelligence will be in the forefront.

Mr. Ajit Dharmadhikari a renowned Hospitality Consultant who elaborated on the pros and cons of hiring a consultant for a project, he gave a detailed picture about how a hotel project is planned and the various key factors of importance like Location, Feasibility, Smart purchases, Finance and the most important choosing a right consultant.

Chef Ravish Arora– acclaimed Food and Beverage Trendsetter, well known for his brands like Bakers Basket, Incognito, and InnvenueHospitality, who also is a recipient of Best Restraunteur of the year 2017 by the Times Food Awards, was the next speaker. He shared his vast experience in the field of Restaurant Business for almost threedecades; he emphasized how the business is turning out to be very competitive day by day and how the market is today ruled by younger generations for their business. He also mentioned how brands need to be younger to sustain in this changing scenario, to meet the demands of the millennials.

The seminar received an overwhelming response from the Academics, Entrepreneurs and Industry, which had a very vibrant interactive session after each talk.
