Ahmedabad, June 08, 2019: Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad announces the appointment of Ms. Sonika Chaturvedi as their new General Manager with effect from, May 28, 2019, taking over the operations from Mr. Rahul Raj.
Sonika brings with her a credible experience of motioning operations along with efficient management of the resources available in-house. Graduating with Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Catering Management from Mangalore, she has an adept knowledge of over 21 years with an excellent record of contributions in enhancing customer experience and satisfaction in the luxury hotel industry.
Overwhelmed by the courtesies extended towards her association, she said, “It’s my first time in Ahmedabad wherein I found that people in Ahmedabad are more people-driven wherein Bangalore is a transnational city. The focus right now is to know the people, the city & the culture. Also, the hotel has been positioned as the market leader and I would definitely want to maintain, elevate and retain the status of the hotel”
Apart from overcoming the challenges faced in terms of growth in revenue, her caliber will focus on developing a work environment high in employee morale and bringing constant learning and development opportunities at all levels.
Sonika had earlier worked with the Taj West End, Hilton Golden Palms, and many other well-known organizations before fulfilling her duties as the Director of Human Resource, Marriott India. She has had a long term association with Marriott Group. Since the early beginning of 2007, she has been associated with Goa Marriott Resorts, Renaissance Hotel Convention Centre and Marriott Executive Apartments, Mumbai as well as Marriott Bengaluru Whitefield.
During all her stints, she has received many leadership awards and has continued to create addition in her long list of achievements including the HR Leadership in Hotel Opening 2012 (Andhra Pradesh Region) and Mustang Award for the same region in 2011.
