New Delhi, June 22, 2016: The Korean Culinary Camp was inaugurated at Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Kalkaji, New Delhi on 20th June 2016, in the college premises. Mr Kim Kum Pyoung, Director/Counsellor, Korean Cultural Centre, The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, India, Chef Lim Chae Hong, Jeonju University, Korea, Team from Today’s Crowne Plaza Okhla, New Delhi including Mr. Rishabh Tandon, HR Manager, Mr. Sumit Biswas, Training Manager, Mr. Anand Mohan Thakur, F & B Manager, Chef Sudarshan Bhandari, Executive Chef along with Mr. R.K.Bhandari, Director, BCIHMCT and other dignitaries from the Industry and trade media marked their gracious presence on the Inaugural day of the Korean Culinary Camp.
This intensive short term course will enlighten the learners about the Korean food habits, local ingredients, cooking methods and techniques, preparation and presentation alongside tasting of popular dishes of the region. More than 40 registered candidates, along with faculty and students of the college, will participate in the 40 days workshop from 20th June to 31st July 2016.
Mr. Bhandari welcomed the guests and mentioned that “We are fortunate to have Korean Master Chef Lim Chae Hong to hold the Korean Culinary sessions during the workshop. His experience & skills in this subject would definitely encourage the participants, along with the students of the institute, to develop confidence in Korean Culinary Art and get benefited in the long run”.
In its quest for excellence, BCIHMCT has organised the first-of-its-kind workshop, designed in partnership with Korean Cultural Centre, to benefit the chef fraternity and aspiring culinary artists in India. The Korean Cultural Centre will also support the institute during Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble 2016, in organizing a new entrant in the series of competitions “The Korean Culinary Challenge” this year. Appreciating the support extended by KCC towards conduction of this workshop, Mr. Bhandari hopes that this association will go a long way in terms of pooling-in efforts and working more closely to achieve goals.
