New Delhi, October 02, 2019: Celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Rajasthan Government in association with different departments like Department of Tourism is organising series of events between 2nd to 9th October, 2019. Commencing today, honorable Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot will be giving his graceful appearance as chief guest during Gandhi Saptah in number of events. Starting 07:30 am, there will be prayer assembly at secretariat. There will be a morning-prayer assembly which will be organised at Gandhi Circle. Post which, Chief Minister will be inaugurating Gandhi Pradarshini and Khadi Fair. There will be cultural events happening at center of the city – Central Park – where Gandhi Utsav which will be celebrated between 2nd to 9th October in association with Seher – cultural organization.

Shri Ashok Gehlot, CM of the state will be inaugurating Gandhi Pradarshini and Khadi Fair at Shilpgram – Jawahar Kala Kendra where more than 500 artisans from across Rajasthan will be exhibiting their products. Gandhi Pradarshini will be organised by Bhartiya Shilp Sansthan where a large number of women artisans from Rajasthan will participate and display their products for visitors. Visitors will have a chance to try their hands on Gandhi Charkha while shopping khadi made apparels in this exhibition.
Gandhi Utsav @ 12:00 noon onwards at Central Park, Jaipur
Seher – A cultural organisation – is organising Gandhi Utsav under which more than 30 artists from around the globe from countries like Afghanistan, USA, Philippines, and of course India are travelling to Jaipur which is a weeklong celebration. The artist camp will be mentored by veteran artist – Jogen Chowdhary who is known for being one of the pillars of modern Indian Art. These artists are going to be interpreting and presenting Mahatma Gandhi’s 11 vows on their canvases. This one of its kind camp will be open for public from 11:00 am in the morning till 06:00 pm in the evening. One of the highlights of this event would be six Afghan women artists who will be a part of this artist camp and will be portraying Gndhi ji’s thoughts in very creative paintings.

Apart from daytime happenings, Spic Macay in joint association with Jaipur Development Authority will be organising mesmerizing musical night at Central Park from 06:30 pm to 08:00 pm with Sunanda Sharma, the very popular Bhajan performer.
There will also be Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, legendry Sarod Maestro who will be delighting the music connoisseurs of the city.
