Bangalore, July 26, 2018: Hotelogix, a leader in cloud-based Property Management System announces its association with the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Mumbai. Under this alliance, IHM, one of the premier hotel management institutes in India would use Hotelogix PMS to train its students in order to enhance their practical knowledge as the adoption of cloud PMS is set go up in India.
IHM also known as The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, is the first of its kind in South East Asia which was founded in the year 1954.
Speaking on this, Prabhash Bhatnagar, Founder at Hotelogix said, “We take pride in partnering with IHM-Mumbai that has produced professionals who have shaped hospitality business in various ways. With shifting technology trends, it has now become imperative for the institute to train their students on cloud-based PMS that has changed the way hoteliers globally are handing their operations. As part of our global initiative, we plan to forge more industry-academia collaborations in future.”
The institute started training its students on a server-based PMS around 4 years back. “We started facing lots of technical snags with the earlier server-based PMS. It didn’t help us impart the right technical knowledge to our students. As a reputed institution, we have been producing industry-ready professionals and to maintain this, we decided to move onto cloud. This would ensure that our students get to work on technology that is relevant and futuristic. And we could not find anything better than Hotelogix,” said Mitsy D’Souza, lecturer at IHM-Mumbai.
“During campus selections, recruiters show interest to understand our students’ exposure towards Hotel PMS. And looking at the changing scenario where hotels in India are increasingly using cloud PMS, we are sure that our decision to train students on Hotelogix PMS will boost their employability,” Mitsy added.
IHM offers Bachelor of Science – Hotel & Hospitality Administration degree comprising 6 semesters in 3 years and 5 semesters have PMS as major component. Hotelogix PMS will be used to impart thorough practical knowledge on Front Office functionalities.
Echoing the same concern, Varu Hooja, Partner at the Mahan, an emerging eco-resort brand said, “As a hotel that is adopting modern technology to drive our hospitality business, this collaboration between IHM and Hotelogix is a welcome move. Training the future hospitality professionals on a cloud PMS is an immense advantage for hotels, since cloud is the future of the hotel industry.”
