New Delhi, November 14, 2019: Brides aren’t the only ones wearing Manish Malhotra’s fashionable designs this season. The design also adorns the new gift boxes and desserts from Yauatcha. In preparation of oncoming festivities, Yauatcha and Manish Malhotra have come together to form an exceptional collaboration of food and fashion, to launch limited-edition Haute desserts. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Indian designer’sFestive Couture collection,Maahrumysha, the macarons and petit gâteaux will reflect the fine craftsmanship and intricate detailing that it embodies.A natural synergy that inspired this creative partnership, brings together Yauatcha’s delicate French inspired Patisserie with Manish Malhotra’saesthetics and timeless designs.
Textural elements in the petit gâteaux will mimic fabrics like velvet while gold finishes will bring out the thoughtfully crafted gold thread zardozi work. Amidst the various desserts will be flourless chocolate cake, grand macaron, festive flavoured macarons and other mousse-based desserts.
In keeping with India’s rich culinary culture, the patisserie team at Yauatcha will showcase celebratory, royal ingredients like rose, coconut, pistachio and more. The flavours become a spectacle for the eyes, as well as the palate. These creations will be put together in custom designed patisserie boxes designed by Manish Malhotra that pay homage to one of his signature design elements – an embroidered gold motif. These boxes are perfect as a gift, to be shared with friends and fanatics of the macaron and the designer, especially during this wedding and festive season.
The dessert collection will feature four petit gateaux and four macarons, all of which have taken inspiration from Manish Malhotra’s Maahrumysha collection, mimicking textures and colours. The Royal rose grand macaron, a larger than life sized macaron that is delicately flavoured with rose, filled with white chocolate cream and rose in the center, finally finished with a bow shaped white chocolate ruffle and a delicate rose petal for a festive touch. The divine Velvet milk chocolate praline using milk chocolate and hazelnut mixed with salted caramel sauce, is a mousse-based dessert that is finished with a golden leaf on top while the Golden nougat, a chocolate brownie like petit gateau, with an explosion of molten chocolate at the center, has an ivory velvety texture topped with golden dusted cookie crumble, to add the right amount of festive feel. Lastly, the Golden leaf, a gluten free dessert,is a delicious flourless spin on the classic chocolate sponge cake made with French style meringue and cocoa. The festive macarons include flavours like Coconut with golden dust, Pistachio, Violet with blueberry meringue and a signature favourite Hazelnut. All macarons come with gold dusted feuilletine flakes for a festive finish.
From Sequins to Macarons, this collaborative collection is an amalgamation of the Indian festive spirit. It is Manish Malhotra’s tribute to the old-world regalia marrying the millennial charmand Yauatcha patisserie’s philosophy of presenting fresh, exciting flavours with classic European flair.
