New Delhi, April 15, 2025: From the 18th to the 27th of April, JW Kitchen at JW Marriott Kolkata brings you a special Moroccan Food Festival—a celebration of vibrant spices, rich flavours and time-honoured cooking traditions. Curated with care and authenticity, this dinner-only offers guests a chance to savour the essence of Moroccan cuisine right here in Kolkata.
Known for its warm and comforting dishes, Moroccan food reflects influences from Berber, Arab, Mediterranean and African cultures. The festival menu captures this diversity, starting with the iconic Moroccan Mint Tea—a sweet, fragrant blend of green tea and fresh mint traditionally served as a gesture of hospitality.
The experience begins with a variety of traditional starters like Harira, a tomato and lentil soup; Zaalouk, a smoky roasted eggplant dip; and Briouats, crisp phyllo pastries filled with spiced meat or cheese. These are followed by hearty mains such as Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemon and Olives, Lamb Couscous with Seven Vegetables and Vegetable Pastilla—a unique sweet and savoury pie filled with spiced vegetables, cinnamon and almonds.
To end on a sweet note, guests can enjoy a selection of Moroccan desserts, including Almond Briwat, Chebakia and Sellou, each made using traditional ingredients and techniques. And of course, another round of Moroccan mint tea makes for the perfect finish to the meal.
