Bengaluru, March 10, 2016: Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) is organising Eastern India’s largest recruitment drive at Kolkata on 10th March, 2016. The venue of this Globsyn Crystals, Salt lake Sector V, Kolkata – 700091. The idea behind this concept is to provide trained manpower to the travel and hospitality industry.

CII, supported by NSDC, has facilitated formation of (THSC) Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council. The Sector Skill Council is a national level organization with a Government-Industry interface and partnership with stakeholders from industry, labour as well as the academia. It fulfils its purpose essentially when the lead is taken by Industry stakeholders.

Registered in September 2014, under The Indian Society’s act with its Industry represented Governing Council. It is funded by the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) with support funding from the Industry members. NSDC has pledged a grant.

Formed with the motive of “BY THE INDUSTRY FOR THE INDUSTRY” and will cater to all the sub sectors of the Industry, namely, Hotels, Tour Operators, Food Service Restaurants, facilities management and cruise liners.

THSC has signed MOU with PaschimBanga Society for Skill Development to provide expertise vocational training of Tourism and Hospitality sector alignment with NSQF. To facilitate setting up of Centre of Excellence, Training of Trainers, Identify Training providers, ensure quality training delivery, accreditation and certification.

Speaking about the recruitment drive Mr. Praveen Roy, CEO, THSC said” We are committed to ensure that the industry recognises the need of employing THSC trained and certified manpower.
