A hotel rep said, “When [guests] book a room, suite, or villa, it is theirs for one night — even if they check in at 6 a.m. on their arrival date and check out at 10 p.m. on their departure date.”
In addition to this, the hotel chain is also making cancellation policies more flexible, which is also set to start in January. As per new policies, guests would be able cancel their bookings by 3 PM one day before the arrival; they can also change reservations without any additional charges for up to 12 months from booking date according to the reports published in timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
Gareth Roberts, a hotel executive said that now, in the time of pandemic, travel has become more challenging and so they need to understand that extra time is one of the most meaningful gifts they can offer to guests. He further said that by allowing guests early arrival and longer stay, they hope to provide them with greater peace of mind and more personalised hotel experience.
In the current times, hotels across the globe have made significant changes in their age-old policies as a response to the pandemic. Cancellation rules, hygiene, and making rooms available to remote workers are some of the prime changes made by the hotel industry.
