New Delhi, March 28, 2018: Having gained significant experience for nearly 2 decades, Amol More has perfected his art, while enhancing customer satisfaction and maintaining the standards of the establishments he has been associated with. Having graduated from Mithibai College of Commerce, Mumbai in 1995, he went on to complete his Diploma in Hotel Management from Shri Shakti College of Hotel Management in 1998.
Amol initially started training at Kempinski Hotels India, Mumbai in 1996 and then officially kick started his career at Accor Group of Hotels, as a Kitchen Executive and got promoted to Sous Chef. He then moved on to Orchid Group of Hotels, Mumbai in 2001, as a Sous Chef. Later, he joined Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center & Marriott Executive Apartment, Mumbai, where he was credited with planning kitchen set up and food menu execution for the new outlet Velvet Lounge.
In 2005, he joined JW Marriott, Mumbai as a Sous Chef. In this stint, he worked in capacity of Banquet Chef and Executive Sous Chef in years to come. He was sent on task force to JW Marriott, Phuket and handled several big social and corporate events at the hotel. He spearheaded the task force to execute a high profile wedding of 600 guests at JW Marriott, Phuket.
Soon enough his skills got him appreciation and he was appointed as the Director of Events Management & Banquet Operations in 2010, for JW Marriott Mumbai.He then moved on to Marriott Courtyard, Bhopal, India as Director of Food and Beverage which he successfully setup and launched. It was the first Marriott property in Central India and under his able guidance, simulation and the opening countdown of the hotel was executed.
In 2001, Amol moved onto JW Marriott, Jakarta as Director of Food & Beverage, and undertook operations of the F&B outlets at the property. Apart from being awarded the Best All-day Dining – Sailendra and Best Japanese Restaurant – Asuka for three consecutive years, Amol kept close watch at the profitability of the outlets as well as ensuring a steady leap in the market.
In January 2018, Amol joined in the capacity of Director of Operations at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat. His current role includes focusing on enhancing guest experience and aligning operational departments’ activities to achieve the same.
Working in luxury hotels for almost 2 decades, Amol More has acquired culinary experience that has not only helped him understand food and beverage operations better but also take responsibility of market leads, driving sales efforts, successfully running operations along with pre-opening experiences at medium to large sized iconic hotels.
Hands-on experience with luxury hotels and the confidence to deal with complex situations, has given Amol the understanding to run large departments and oversee customer requirements or complaints, alongside making decisions during demanding times.
