New Delhi, February 01, 2018: : Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council held a Mega Job Fair on 19th January 2018 for career opportunities in tourism and hospitality sector along with venue partners Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi.
The event was supported by National Skill Development Corporation under the ageis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Showcasing a gamut of job opportunities of the hospitality and tourism segment, the biggest ever fair bought about 50 leading recruiters from Delhi NCR under one roof. Leading Hotel chains like Oberoi, Trident, Taj, Carlson Rezidor, Sarovar, Park, Neemrana, Holiday Inn, Meridian to Brand Restaurants/QSR like Social, Burger Singh, Burger King, Nandos, Barbeque Nation, Bikanervala, Farzi Café, Mamagoto, Dhaba, Sly Granny, Rollmaal, Speedy Chow, Batra Bros. Food & Beverages Pvt. Ltd, Speciality Restaurants, Beef Café, Red Mango Cafealong with Facilities Management Companies like Sodexo , leading Travel Agencies, PVR, SWIGGY, participated. Entry level jobs to supervisory level jobs in Tourism and Hospitality sector were available.
Companies offered Full Time, Part Time, Entrepreneurial opportunity and Apprenticeships.
Candidates travelled from 6 states (Delhi, HP, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP, Punjab) to participate in the Mega event. Some candidates came from as far as Hyderabad, Pune, Bhuveneshwar and Jammu. ITI candidates and candidates from Ministry of Tourism programs/colleges also participated. PWD candidates and candidates trained under the YUVA initiative of the Delhi Police also came for the Job Fair, bagging opportunities with many companies.
This is most certainly a strong step towards achieving the larger goals of Mission Skill India. The Mega Job Fair in Delhi and its fantastic results will lead to closer association between CEGR and THSC. Skill based NSQF aligned certification will gain stronger foothold in the traditional education system as it increases employability thus leading to higher chances of employment.
