New Delhi, September 25, 2022: The 4 City Telangana Round Cookery Contest with a unique purpose to turn rural women into food entrepreneurs concludes.
An initiative of Hyderabad-based Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India (COWE) and Hands in Hospitality Chef’s Association, it aims to turn 150 rural women into food entrepreneurs
The last leg in the four-city contest in Telangana was held yesterday at Jadcharla in Mahboobnagar District shared by Ms Jyotsna, President of COWE Telangana.
80 Women vied for the honours. Sattemma for her Munagaku Jonna Rotte; U Mani for Gond Laddu; Susheela Rao for her Barley Roti stood in the top three positions. The five participants were picked up for consolation prizes. They include Mrs Sudha for her Dryfruit Gond Laddu; Sumalatha for her Mamidikaya Korrala Biryani; Suguna for her Jonna Sankait; Padma for Mixed Millet Roti and Shobha Devi for Pizza Chat.

Three Hyderabadi women travelled to Jadcherla to participate in the contest. Ms Sudha from Jadcharla and Hasina from Mahboobnagar, the two successful women entrepreneurs in the food business have also participated. Three women came from Hyderabad to participate in the contest.
The title of the competition was “Mera Swad MeraSwaasth”. The theme was Paushtik Food(Healthy vegetarian food).
Three professional chefs judged the winners based on the texture, presentation, ingredients used, taste and healthiness of the food etc.
The Best participants of each centre will participate in the final where they need to cook live in a live kitchen. Before the final, a workshop will be run for them.
The eight winners from each city and special consolation prize winners in some cases will get to participate in the final.
The winners from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, all numbering around 150 will participate in the final to be held in Hyderabad on October 16 and 17, 2022.
The three best winners will be picked up in the final. Based on their interest, ambitious women will be nurtured and groomed to become women entrepreneurs.
