Ahmedabad, August 20, 2019: Driven by its conscious endeavour to avoid disrespect to the National Flag and to eliminate avoidable plastic waste, the Courtyard By Marriott Ahmedabad transformed the Independence Day celebrations into an eco-friendly one through its Take Care initiative.
As a part of the exemplary initiative, Courtyard By Marriott distributed 50 environment-friendly flags among its employees to mark the country’s 72nd Independence Day on August 15. The special flags were made out of paper produced from waste cotton fibre, and embedded with marigold seeds. Upon being planted, the seeds in the flag will eventually grow into a beautiful plant.
The recipients of the Flags were also given instructions on planting the Tricolor with full respect in accordance with provisions of the Flag Code 2002 post the celebrations.
Respecting the tradition of celebrating the Independence Day in an eco-friendly manner, Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad leads the hospitality sector towards a sustainable celebration of National importance.
