Bangkok, June 05, 2016: As part of its ongoing efforts to motivate each and every guest to pursue their personal passions and health goals through bespoke and inspirational experiences, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is taking part in Global Wellness Day (GWD) again this year. The Anantara team will be saying ‘Yes!’ to the one-day event celebrating health and wellbeing on 11 June by hosting a programme of activities throughout a consecutive 24-hour period at Anantara hotels and resorts across Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Middle East and Africa.

To celebrate living well, Anantara properties will be giving guests the chance to get involved in a variety of motivating exercise and movement classes such as “Rue-siDat Ton”, a traditional form of Thai yoga which translates as “Hermit’s Self-Stretching Exercise”, sunrise beach yoga, kick-boxing (Muay Thai) and sunset tai chi, as well as offering guests special healthy drinks and meals, while being immersed in the natural beauty and local cultural traditions of amazing destinations. With the goal of promoting proactive wellness, GWD asks people around the world to reflect on how they can live heathier and better lives by taking seven steps. The simple steps include: walking for an hour; drinking more water; not using plastic bottles; eating organic food; doing a good deed; having a family dinner and sleeping by 10pm.

GWD has already gained a celebrity following from health conscious individuals including Richard Branson, Vanessa Williams and Skype Co-founder, Jonas Kjellberg.

Anantara’s Balance Wellness programme, which launched last year, allows guests to decide how to spend their time when staying at one of Anantara’s luxury hotels or resorts, choosing from a range of inspirational experiences for health, fitness and wellbeing, matched by the freedom to explore, indulge and relax. By inviting guests to make healthy choices that suit their time, needs and goals, travelling to some of the world’s most alluring destinations is an adventure with a long lasting feel good factor.

The synergy between Anantara’s Balance Wellness programme and Global Wellness Day is clear, with the partners sharing a passion for improving lives through engagement and awareness. For modern travellers, life is a journey that balances wellness and travel, wherever they go with Anantara.
