New Dehi, April 30, 2019: The 21st annual themed dinner of the Maharashtra State Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (MSIHMCT), Pune was celebrated on 30th March 2019. 2019 also marks the completion of the institute’s 50 years in imparting hospitality education where in a ceremony, eateries from across Pune which have completed 50 years were felicitated. The name of this year’s themed dinner was “412 Alfresco”. The theme was built around cuisines and foods from around the world and the dinner was served in a sit-down styled pop-up. The name of this year’s dinner was the weaving together of the institute’s address which begins with the number 412 and the style of seating which was Alfresco.
The mouthwatering appetizers served included Ganderi Kebab, Cheese Khandvi and even Bhel put together with seafood. A steak made entirely from cauliflower and the classic French dish, Chicken Roulade was given a twist with a crusting of cumin and Nilgiri sauce poured over the dish.
The event is managed by students of the final year degree program students with assistance of students from junior classes and guidance from faculties. The students are appointed as heads for departments like Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Decorations, Housekeeping, Finance, Marketing and even Human Resource. According to the principal Dr. Anita Moodliar, the credit for the event goes to the synchronized amalgamation of the students’ efforts in various departments like Food Production, F&B Service, Housekeeping and Decoration, Sales and Marketing, Finance and even Human Resource.

The lively ambience created at the entrance made the evening “412 Alfresco” for one and all. The evening was lit up by lively smiles from students serving the cuisines and refreshing mocktails.
