Affiliated to the Goa University and with an option to pursue a post-graduate degree at HTMi Switzerland, VMSIIHE offers a B.Sc in International Hospitality Management.With the strategic partnership with HTMi institute in Switzerland now in place, students who have successfully completed the 3-year International Hospitality degree at VMSIIHE in Goa will be eligible to be enrolled at the Master’s program at HTMi Switzerland.The institute has a strategic tie-up with the international hospitality chain, the Marriott Group for knowledge sharing and training purpose. The illustrious V.M.Salgaocar Group which has established a business legacy in the state has set up the V.M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE).The Vishwa Saraswati Society set up by the V.M Salgaocar Group will manage and promote the hospitality education institute. Mr. Dattaraj V. Salgaocar is the Chairman of the Society while Mr. Shivanand V. Salgaocar is the Vice-Chairman.

The V.M Salgaocar Group now enters a new phase in its legacy with the completion of its new state-of-the-art campus at Raia in south Goa spread across 6 acres of lush greenery surrounded by green fields that roll into the horizon.

The well designed campus has a fully functional 5 starred training hotel on campus, complete with a grand lobby area and reception, well appointed guestrooms, restaurant, kitchen area and banqueting facilities. The program provides participants an in-depth exposure to various facets of the industry, departmental processes related to Food & Beverage planning, Showmanship, Front Office and Housekeeping practices, human resource management, food production operations and more. Course curriculum will include academic learning, practical sessions and professional internships in top hotels in India and abroad.

The three year full time program offers a total of 240 credits, 90 in the first year and 75 credits each in the second and third year. The course boasts of a dedicated experienced faculty, world class infrastructure, interactions with industry experts and professional internships in top hotels in India and abroad.

On completion of the course, graduates from this program will be unusually well qualified to understand and respond to the issues and challenges faced by the hotel management industry.

Irfan Mirza is the Director at the V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education in Goa. Prior to taking up this role, he held the position of Director, Academic Relations (India) for César Ritz Colleges, Switzerland and was a visiting faculty member at various institutes in India and Europe.

Irfan Mirza brings with him an experience of over 20 years in the hospitality industry. He did his R.C. S from Institute of Hotel Management in Madras and received a diploma in F&B Management from the International College of Hotel Management, Montana, Switzerland and a diploma in Hotel Management from Institut Hotelier “César Ritz”, Le Bouveret, Switzerland. He has also done a BA in Hotel Management from Regional Technical College, Galway, Ireland

Prof. Mirza has vast knowledge in planning and setting up hotel management institutes. He has been a project consultant and has successfully set up hotel management institutes in abroad and India including European International College Abu Dhabi, Jindal School of Management in Baroda, Oriental School of Hotel Management, Calicut, Sarva Institute of Hotel Management, Chandigarh and Good Shepherd College of Hotel Management, Ooty.

A veteran in the hospitality industry Irfan Mirza has received the Instructor Award for American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute of USA for teaching key courses like Leadership and Management in Hospitality Industry, Fundamentals of Destination Management and Marketing, Hospitality Industry Financial Accounting and others at the institute.

In his career span, Mirza has authored books like ‘A to Z International Cooking’ and ‘A to Z International Baking’. He has responsible for developing a START (Skills, Tasks, and Training) hospitality Program for the Emirarti students in Dubai and also developed specialized courses for starred hotels in Dubai.

Irfan Mirza also serves as a specialist and training solutions consultant at Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing at the Government of Dubai.
