Mumbai, August 25, 2016: The funky follow-up to the Chai Pe Charcha outlets in Lower Parel and Prabhadevi has now opened its doors to tea lovers in town. Set in an adda-ish layout exaggerated with stimulating artwork and decor, the third outlet in Fort is already becoming a favourite with fans of the beverage. “People love what we offer – intellectually stimulating tea blends accompanied by delectable snacks, served in a vibrant place abuzz with ideas!” says Anil Kohli, the enterprising owner of the chain.

Chai Pe Charcha offers over 20 varieties of tea, prompt service and hygiene to its time-bound patrons at reasonable rates. “You get authentic tea only at tapris. My prerogative is to serve the kind of tea that Indians enjoy the most to corporates.” says Anil. Chai Pe Charcha specialises in blending local flavours with tealeaves sourced from authentic tea-plantations in Assam. Some of the charchit blends are Paani Kum Chai (Kadak Chai), Bawa Ni Chai (Irani Chai), Indi-Cheeni Bhai Bhai Chai (Tulsi Green Tea), Insidewala Snaan (Detox Tea), Hajmola Chai (Lemon Tea) amongst others.

“We have introduced a new range of pizzas called Videshi Paratha at the Fort outlet. It includes Margarita Pizza, Veg. Pizza Pizza, BBR Paneer Pizza, and the thoroughly delicious, Nutella Pizza.” says Anil. “And if you are tired of overtly healthy dietary alternatives, then turn straight to the Healthy Charcha section that comprises of Baked Samosa, Atta Maggie, Sprouts Bhel and more.” he adds. The new outlet also serves all-time breakfast favourites like Kanda Poha, Upma, Dalia, Cornflakes/Chokos/Oats, Tomato Omelette, and a Fruit Box. The All Day Menu includes the must-try Gulkand Bun Maska, Cheen ki Bhel, English-Vinglish Sandwich, Firangi Khakhra, Paneer Pakoda, Uttari Bread Pakoda, Charcha Vada Pav amongst others.

The interiors ensure that there’s never a dull moment. Posters of Bollywood movies, print ads from yesteryears and famous quotes from Bollywood movies adorn the walls. What stands out particularly is the column of ceiling lamps made from old school kettles. Take-away kettles (delivered via online) on display at the counter will get you thinking how serious Anil Kohli is about serving hot chai to the working class of the city that never sleeps. Did we mention that you can play board games as you go on with your charcha over chai-pani?

The other striking feature of how Chai Pe Charcha operates is that it employs hearing and speech impaired individuals for nearby deliveries. Anil, who has physical disabilities since birth, is a staunch believer in the cause of empowering differently-abled individuals. “I call them ‘sign experts’ and have the words printed on their t-shirts. After all, I want all my employees to earn with pride.” Joel and Terrence, who are differently-abled, are doing a brilliant job of running the Lower Parel outlet. Anil looks forward to collaborating with more such individuals at the Fort outlet.
