London, March 24, 2016: SiteMinder has again been recognised for its best-in-class technology solutions, receiving on Sunday the coveted Top hotel Star Award in Germany in the category of ‘online’ for The Channel Manager. The announcement – made at Gastro Vision, the business forum for Germany’s top decision makers in the hotel, restaurant and catering industry – placed SiteMinder’s Channel Manager in the top, Gold position, as voted on by subscribers and affiliates of Top hotel, Germany’s most-read hotel magazine.

Speaking on the goals of the awards program, Top hotel editor Thomas Karsch said, “When evaluating a hotel stay from the guest’s perspective, the friendliness and service of hotel staff are usually placed at the fore. The hotel’s hardware, facilities and equipment often go unnoticed or are taken for granted.”

As the hotel industry’s largest channel management platform, SiteMinder’s Channel Manager was recognised for its smart and simple design, unique pricing model and self-enabling capabilities, including the self mapping tool which allows hotels to instantly map their rooms from their property management system (PMS) or central reservation system (CRS) through to their online channels for full control of their inventory. As a cloud-based platform, the product also comes with quick setup, with full flexibility and scalability to reduce hotel staff training and maintenance.

The Channel Manager allows hotels to tap into global markets through its integrations with more than 300 of the world’s top distribution channels and more than 120 PMS, CRS and revenue management system partners. Combined with the product’s real-time capability, this reach has attracted the likes of DORMERO Hotels, Austria Trend Hotels and SANA Hotels over the past year to facilitate more than US$10.8 billion in revenue and more than 27 million reservations for hotels worldwide.

Max Herbst, head of revenue management at DORMERO Hotels, says: “SiteMinder continually invests in its technology, making it the ideal partner for our current and future needs. SiteMinder offers unsurpassed connections to both local and global channels, which is crucial when you are located in one of the world’s most tourist-ready economies* and need to be reaching travellers domestically and from all around the world.”

The Top hotel Star Award program attracted nominations from more than 100 companies this year, for 12 categories that included ‘innovation’ and ‘wellness’. Only three nominations from each category reached the final judging stageand together generated more than 4,000 votes.

All winners will be profiled in the April 2016 edition of Top hotel magazine.
