Mumbai, August 27, 2017: There’s the sound of chopping, whisking, frying, shaking and stirring across Bangalore today as budding chefs and mixologist brought together a culinary storm at the Restaurant & Catering Show (RECA). The event titled “Gourmet Challenge” in association with U.S. Premium Agricultural Products was organized as a concurrent special event along with the “Hospitality First”. Touted as one of India’s biggest culinary challenge, the event brings together top hotels and bakery chefs who showcase their gastronomic skills.

The three-day extravaganza organised at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Goregaon and Mumbai from 21st – 23rd August, 2017, showcased the finest produce from the American soil. The idea was to highlight the uniqueness and versatility of the U.S. Premium Agricultural Products such as U.S. Cranberries, Washington Apples, USA Pears, California Walnuts and U.S. Pecans.

The Gourmet & Cuisine Competition was a great success with participation from over 80 chefs and mixologists across Mumbai. The event saw some phenomenal talent where participants created innovative recipes using the finest U.S. Premium Agricultural Products such as U.S. Cranberries, Washington Apples, USA Pears, California Walnuts and U.S. Pecans as the main ingredients. Yogendra Adep, Joauina Pereira, Swadha Kuthiala, Swapnil Agre from St. Regis was declared the winning team for the Gourmet Competition respectively. They created tuna tarter, soup-white onion veloute as the appetizer, Hared lamb loin with duo of beetroot and burrata tortellini as the main course and Melting chocolate with cranberry and caramelized pecan nut soil as the dessert. Winner of the Mixology Competition was Oslin Gonsalves from Drop Bar who created Apple cinnamon and cranberry mojito. All the winning entries were loved by the esteemed jury and audience alike
