Rajasthani food festival opens from May 19th 2017

Lucknow, May 20, 2017: If you are a food lover and like indulging in multifarious cuisines, a scrumptious Rajasthani treat awaits you this weekend.

Renaissance Lucknow Hotel, is hosting a special Rajasthani Food Festival next week. The festival is being specially curated by Chef Mohammad Anwar, a well-known chef from Rajasthan who is on a visit to Renaissance Lucknow Hotel.

The Rajasthani festival to begin on May 19, is set to bring to you exquisite flavors from the sand dunes of the Thar, as also the soul stirring music of the desert state.

Rajasthani cuisine is a wonderful mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, whose preparations are markedly different from all north-Indian cuisines. The food carries a clear imprint of the state’s climate, its vegetation and the centuries old traditional lifestyles of the state’s inhabitants.

“Rajasthani cuisine is markedly different from the north Indian cuisine which we all are familiar with. Given the fact that the state has an arid and dry climate, the cuisine features dishes that do not need too much water or green vegetables, indigenously cooked to suit the hot desert climatic conditions. The bedouin-like and conflict-prone lifestyles of the people of the region also influenced the cuisine. Food that could last for several days and could be eaten without heating was preferred. Rajasthani food is mostly vegetarian but the non vegetarian diet of the Rajputs is also an inalienable part of this cuisine,” explains Chef Mohammad Anwar.

The Food Festival will bring some of the most loved and authentic Rajasthani dishes for the food lovers of Lucknow.

From the mouth watering meat dishes like Laal maans, Safed maas, Khadkhargosh and Jungli maasto highly satisfying vegetarian dishes like Ker Sangari, Daal Baati Choorma, and Gatte Ki sabzi, the food festival will offer a variety of delectable dishes from the western state, which are sure to enrich your gastronomic experience.

“At Renaissance Hotel, Lucknow, our objective is not limited to providing hospitality to our visitors, but also enriching the lives of our patrons by offering them interesting experiences. The food festivals we host are part of this commitment of offering diverse gastronomic treats to our visitors. We are sure, this food festival will be a delight for people interested in experiencing the rich and varied cuisines from all parts of the country,” says Praveen Sharma, Director of Sales & Marketing.
