Noida, March 26, 2016: In their endeavor to train underprivileged kids about Indian cultural heritage and performing arts, Routes 2 Roots, organized ‘Holi at the Slum’ meet at Slum Area at the end of Delhi - Noida Toll Road, as a part of Virsa, a digital learning projectin an association with Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Holi at the Slum’ was a fun filled meet of colors, joy and learning all at once. The meet included an introductory dance class by a young choreographer, teaching them dance steps at the slum. The activities also included getting the frame of Virsa hand printed by the kids with Holi colors, interacting with the kids, dance, food and gifts. With the attempt of teaching kids the best there is, usage of organic gulaal was practised. Also, practicing the Swachh Bharat campaign, kids were taught how to keep their environment clean at all times and especially during holi by doing small things like washing their hands, face etc after usage of colors/ gulaal.

The Co-Founders of Routes2Roots, Mr. Rakesh Gupta & Ms. Tina Vachani said, Routes 2 Roots celebrated Holi with the children of weaker section and at the same time gave them classes on performing arts, to culturally integrate these young ones in the mainstream. Our ultimate objective is to spread knowledge and awareness about rich cultural heritage of India to students across the country and subsequently to the world, while picking up the right talent and hand-hold them to be able to help them make a career out of the subject of their choice.

Kids enjoyed a lot playing with colours and danced to the music on Holi special songs. Their parents were very happy to see their smiling coloured faces. Parents also participated in all activities with their kids. They were very glad to know about the project VIRSA by Routes2Roots, which will support their kids in flourishing their passion, which is like dream come true for them.
