Visakhapatnam, July 15, 2016: AccorHotels today announced the appointment of Madhav Bellamkonda as the General Manager of The Bheemili Resort managed by AccorHotels, in addition to his continuing responsibility as the General Manager of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach. In his new role, Madhav will be responsible for spearheading the operations of two AccorHotels properties and steering the hotels to scale greater heights of success.
A seasoned strategist with a flair for innovation and people management, Madhav’s career spans over two decades and across various sectors. He started his career in 1995, working with an NGO and soon rose to the position of Director of Development at the Centre for Global Leadership Development. He also had a successful stint as an Investor Relation Manager for Scotish Power and Associate Director of Joint ventures for European Division of the Bank of Scotland, based in London.
Madhav’s stint with hospitality sector began in 2009 when he took on the role of Chief Operating Officer for Varun Group of Companies and in particular developed the Group’s hospitality vertical. In 2014, he joined AccorHotels and became the General Manager of the 225-room Bheemili Resort managed by AccorHotels. Under his leadership, the hotel received numerous national and international awards for excellence in design and operational results. As an additional responsibility, he will now be heading the The Bheemili Resort managed by AccorHotels, which opened earlier this month under his leadership.
Madhav is a MBA from Strathclyde Business School. He also holds a MA in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Theology.
Madhav is passionate about teaching and training, and regularly delivers guest lectures and speaks at various forums. In his spare time, he likes to read.
