separate line at check-in and while there was a mat, it was a free for all with people cutting in from all directions. After stating that I was a SPG gold member, they tried to make some space for me and upgraded me to a suite. I thought that was a good thing, but when I entered the room, nothing was ready. The bed did not have sheets, no pillows, nothing! Then the housekeeping guy outside tells me that they gave me the wrong room and opens another room for me. I tell him that I need the key card changed to the new room and he bluntly tells me to get it changed the next time I go down. I’m already livid, but I let it go because I’m in a hurry. Thankfully, the guy bringing my luggage up had the presence of mind to get it changed and the duty manager did apologise to me later.

In the room, the plug points were broken, the taps for hot & cold water had been switched (I could’ve suffered some real bad burns). The rooms and bathrooms were otherwise good. The mini bar was not working and after three calls and a good deal of yelling about all the above problems, they sent someone to fix only the mini bar and nothing else. I had given up by then.

Most SPG lounges are open through the day, but this hotel runs it for only 2 hours in the evening (6-8PM)with very, very limited offerings. They had one veg dish and one non veg dish that tasted really bad. Even most of the regular drinks offered in lower level hotels were missing. On the first day of my stay, I went to the lounge at 7:45pm to grab a quick drink and all the lights were switched off and we waited 15 minutes for someone to show up who then said it was 8PM and it was closed. If that service is not called pathetic, then I don’t know what is.
