New Delhi, August 17, 2016: Amritsar: To promote Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, a delegation of Officers and representatives from Tourism and Travel Trade industry, J&K is participating in India Travel Mart Amritsar being held from 12th to 14th August at Holiday Inn, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar Punjab. Shri Bakshi Ram Arora Mayor Punjab inaugurated the Event. This event is organized by Shri Ajay Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, I-Creative Minds New Delhi and J&K Tourism is participating in ITM as a state partner. As many as 8 State Tourism Departments/corporations and large number of Travel agents/ Tour operators are participating and showcasing their tourism products and packages.

The objective behind the participation in the event is to showcase the tourism potential of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and to tap the international and national markets including Punjab in an enhanced and improved way.

On the directions and guidance of Mr. Farooq A. Shah, Secretary to Govt, Tourism Department, Govt of J&K, State delegation comprised of Sh. Sudershan Kumar CEO Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority, Sh. Amarjeet Singh Deputy Director, Enforcement Tourism, Dr. Umesh Shan Assistant Director Tourism Katra along with other officials of Tourism Department. The delegation interacted with Travel agents/ Tour operators/local visitors and urged them to promote J&K as a preferred Tourist Destination keeping in view the coming Festivals.

Inaugural day of the event witnessed huge rush and visitors shown keen interest in J&K Tourism Stall duly represented by various travel trade associations from Jammu and Kashmir. Publicity material and tour packages were distributed and discussed with the visitors. Travel trade associations have shown satisfaction over the response of the queries pouring in for J&K Tourism.
