New Delhi, August 15, 2017: Successful completion of training for first batch of Leadership Training

India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (ITDC) hospitality major under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Carrier Air India to upgrade the skills and knowledge base of Airlines senior executive & cabin crew in Hospitality and Service Industry.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Ashwani Lohani, Chairman and Managing Director, Air India and Mrs. Sudha Chandra, Principal AIHTM and General Manager, HRD ITDC at Air India Head Quarters, New Delhi on 29th May 2017.

Subsequent to the signing of MOU between Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIH&TM) , ITDC and Air India to impart training to the executives of Air India; AIH&M conducted a 5-Day training program on “LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE” from 11th-15 th July 2017 for the first batch of senior executives of Air India at Hotel Samrat, Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion of Valedictory function held at Hotel Samrat on 15th July 2017, Mr. Piyush Tiwari, Officiating Chairman & Managing Director and Director Commercial & Marketing, ITDC said, “ITDC is grateful to Air India and Shri Ashwani Lohani for their faith in ITDC’s expertise in hospitality training and management. We are proud that we have been the biggest force to drive tourism in India and have always contributed in nation building and progressive development of the industry. Our talented team at AIHTM has specially designed curriculum for Air India employees in consultation with best faculties and Air India management. We are going to plan more programs in the coming quarters for enforcing strength and leadership quality in other organisations as well.”

“ITDC and Air India are two most prominent and visible PSUs in service sector and have lots of common traits and can work for mutual benefit.” Mr. Tiwari added.

Appreciating role and Importance of Air India and ITDC in promoting tourism and related services in India as well as abroad Mr. Ashwani Lohani ,Chairman and Managing Director, Air India applauded work force of two organisations and said, “That these are two of the most efficient organisations in their respective fields and have huge potential to grow.”

Other senior officials from ITDC and Air India were also present during valedictory function. Distribution of certificates was done by C&MDs of both the organisations.
