MAMACHAGAON – RESORT

On December 25, 2003, Maitreya Group of Companies, inaugurated an exotic resort equipped with all

modern amenities - MAMACHAGAON. Late Shri Madhusudan Satpalkar, founder of the Group, started

this resort to offer pure and unlimited fun to its customers. The name of the resort also reflects the

same.

Why The Name?

• The concept of the resort borrows from the old Indian tradition, where a married woman

during summer vacations takes her kids to her brother’s house. The maternal uncle’s village

is called Mamachagaon that not just offers tremendous fun and enjoyment to kids but also

provides all the privileges to women to relax and have good times with their loved ones. Not

just this, Mamachagaon resort offers much more. It is a perfect destination for family holidays.

About The Surrounding Area

• Rested on the serene landscape of Boisar, merely 65 kms away from Mumbai, located in its

north, it is one of the best hill side resorts. It is surrounded by small villages inhabited by local

aadivassis called Paada’s. In the surrounding area of Mamachagaon, one can experience the

ancient way of farming, fishing ponds and the tribal’s living style. If you wish to visit these

Paada’s, all you have to do is to request the resort management to arrange a bullock-cart ride

for you. One can also enjoy rain dance and, avail swimming pool and in-house library facilities.

While children can enjoy in the play area, elders can indulge themselves in some interesting

indoor games.

covered by lush greens and topped with fresh blues, which makes it an ideal place to relax and

that can easily accommodate 15 people for a night stay. Along with it, a play-well for children

has also been made where they can have the experience of dragging water from a well, in a

more traditional and playful manner.

• The resort is also known for its style of serving food. The mouth-watering buffet at

Mamachagaon is served in a beautiful arch-shape Dome area. Just like the Garden of Eden, this

Dome is also set up amidst a lush green garden. One can enjoy not only country side food but

also continental, along with other Indian varieties over here. Every dish is cooked with great

care and in a completely hygienic environment.

• On April 20, 2011, Mamachagaon added a new feature to it in the form of a totally different

project. It inaugurated an art gallery dedicated to Waarli paintings in its premises.

Mamachagaon has become the only resort having such an art gallery, the first ever in the

world. Padmashree award winner Mr. Jivya Soma Mhashe inaugurated this unique Waarli Art

Gallary. Beside these in-house attractions, the resort offers several outdoor adventures as well.

The Asawa Fort

• The hill that backs the resort is the most ideal trekking zone not only for youngsters but also

for old ones. Visitors can also explore relics of the old fort ASAWA, built in 325 AD by King

Bhimba Rao, on this hill.

• There is a famous cave on the way to the top of the hill, which is known for an amazing and

mysterious water reservoir. The local Aadiwasi’s say that throughout the year the water

level of this reservoir remains consistent; it never dries out. The surface of this crystal clear

water of the reservoir always remains mysteriously covered by a layer of ash. This reservoir

is also one of its own kinds in the entire world and thus, attracts several tourists. Next to

Mamachagaon there is one more very unique and scenic tourist place one may enjoy visiting.

In short, this resort not just believes in providing an enjoyable experience, but also offers more of an

ethnic and rural taste of life to the visitor.
