New Delhi February 11, 2014: -The development and promotion of tourism is primarily the responsibility of the respective State Government/Union Territory (UT) Administration. However, the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to various State Governments/Union Territory Administrations for various tourism projects including Fairs, Festivals and Tourism related events, prioritized in consultation with them, subject to the availability of funds, inter-se priority and adherence to the DPPH Scheme guidelines (Domestic Promotion and Publicity including Hospitality). A maximum of Rs.50.00 lakh to a State Government and Rs.30.00 lakh to UT Administration can be provided as CFA for Fairs & Festivals in a financial year.  Out of this a maximum of Rs.25.00 lakh per fair/festival/event in the case of a State and Rs.15.00 lakh in the case of a Union Territory can be provided by MOT.
