Chandigarh, November 09, 2016: Hyatt Regency Chandigarh kick started Christmas festivities in style with the traditional cake mixing ceremony at the terrace of Hotel’s Italian specialty restaurant Piccante.

Spreading the cheer along with the Chefs, the ceremony invited the participation of all media friends, corporate guests and in-house guests dressed in typical Chefs attire of hats and aprons amidst tradition and fanfare. Guests and colleagues together rolled up their sleeves and put their hands in the mixing pots.

The ceremony began by mixing colorful orange peel, raisins, cashews, almonds, pistachios, black current, prunes, dates, apricot, spices; cinnamon, ginger, star anise together in the heady concoction of White Wine and Rum, as guests who were gathered in large numbers cheered on.

General Manager, Puneet Baijal said, “Over the years cake mixing has become something of a ritual and is an occasion one looks forward to. The ceremony marks the beginning of the New Year celebrations and is believed to bring good luck for the coming year. After the traditional cake mixing ceremony, the mixture was kept to mature until around Christmas, when it will be blended with the cake batter and baked.
