Chennai, March 07, 2018: Global hospitality major Accor Hotels on Monday launched
its 47th hotel in India with the opening of the 100-room Mercure at the auto hub
of Sriperumbudur, about 40 from here, and was planning to open four more hotels
across the country this year to take its room strength to 9,500.

Talking to reporters after the launch, AccorHotels India and South Asia COO Jean
Michel Casse said at present the hotels’ group room strength in the country was 8,500.

With the opening of four more hotels this year, the room strength would go up to 9,500,
he added.

The new four hotels were Novotel in Kochi, Vijayawada and Chennai and Ibis in Kolkatta.

Replying to questions on acquiring the management of existing hotels, he said one such
property was launched in South Goa and the Group was looking out for suitable properties.
